This weave pattern is similar to plain woven cloths. However, the warp wires are larger and spaced farther apart than the weft wires.
The surfaces of Plain Dutch Weaves are closed and filtration takes place at the crossing point of warp and weft. These weaves have a greater mechanical stability than plain open square meshes. Plain Dutch Weaves are used in pre-coat filtration elements, vacuum filtration, drum filters, nutsch-type filters and in cartridge filters.
Hollander Weave used mainly for filtration, Plain Dutch weaves have a high particle retention, a high tensile strength and many small apertures per suface area. Apertures in this mesh vary from 50 micron to 300 micron.
